CAD/CAM milling

  • MESA MAGNUM SOLARE – Co-Cr-Mo disc (Type 4 according to ISO 22674) for crown and bridge frameworks, Ø 98.5 mm, 8–22 mm.
  • MESA MAGNUM HYPERONE – titanium Grade 23 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI), compliant with ASTM F136; for the same indications, plus the H7 rod for custom abutments.
  • LAPILLUM CCMW – Co-Cr powder for laser melting, 5 kg container.

Casting alloys for metal-ceramics

Co-based: Ceramic Co, Splendidum and the lower-melting-temperature Lucens. Ni-based: Ceramic S, Clarum, Saturno and Ni-Cr-Fe.

Clasp-retained and cast partial dentures

Cr-Co-Mo alloys H50, HBA and VIP-A (Type 5) – for frameworks with clasps that require high hardness and stiffness.

How to choose

For metal-ceramics, the alloy's coefficient of thermal expansion must match the ceramic used – the coefficients are given in each alloy's specifications. For nickel-sensitive patients, choose Co-based alloys. For milling, check that your machine is suitable for metal.

Frequently asked questions

Which alloy is suitable for a patient allergic to nickel?

Choose Co-Cr-based alloys such as MAGNUM Ceramic Co, Splendidum or Lucens, or titanium Grade 23 discs. Ni-Cr alloys (Ceramic S, Clarum, Saturno, Ni-Cr-Fe) are not suitable for such patients.

What size are the metal discs?

MESA MAGNUM SOLARE and HYPERONE discs are Ø 98.5 mm, with thicknesses from 8 to 22 mm.

In what packs are casting alloys supplied?

MESA MAGNUM casting alloys are supplied in 1 kg packs in our catalog, LAPILLUM CCMW powder in a 5 kg container.

What is the difference between HBA and VIP-A?

Both are Cr-Co-Mo alloys for clasp-retained partial denture frameworks (Type 5). The manufacturer specifies VIP-A for frameworks with clasps; mechanical properties are given in the product specifications.
