How to choose a 3D printer for dentistry
Start with the work you will print most often. For orthodontic and working models, build area and speed matter; for splints and surgical guides – accuracy and certified resins; for crowns and dentures – the choice of medical-grade materials.
- Build area. HeyGears UltraCraft A2D-HD – 163.2 × 91.8 × 110 mm; AccuFab-L4D / L4K – 192 × 120 mm print area and a 4K LCD screen.
- Accuracy. A2D-HD – ±42.5 µm, with the 4K upgrade ±21.3 µm; AccuFab-Aris – ±50 µm in a compact housing.
- For the practice. Ceramix-Nano prints from capsules: one unit in 8–11 min., with up to 3 crowns or a bridge of up to 38 mm per capsule.
Resins and post-processing
Each printer works with materials validated by its manufacturer: HeyGears with HeyGears UltraPrint resins, the AccuFab series with SHINING DENT resins. Also factor in post-processing – washing and post-curing. The HeyGears A2D-HD complete set already includes UltraCraft Wash, AirCure and the Pulsing Release Module.
Running costs
In addition to resin, budget for resin tanks, films and build platforms – you will find them in the printer accessories.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a dental 3D printer cost?
Printer prices are available on request, as they depend on the model and configuration (washing and curing equipment, resins). Click the inquiry button next to the product and we will send an offer.
What is the difference between DLP and LCD printers?
Both cure resin layer by layer with light. DLP (e.g. HeyGears A2D-HD) projects the light with a projector, LCD (e.g. AccuFab-L4D / L4K, AccuFab-Aris) through an LCD screen. In practice, the choice of validated resins, the build area and the reproducibility of the whole process matter more.
Can I print crowns at the clinic in a single visit?
Yes, the capsule-based Ceramix-Nano with SHINING DENT CB200 resin in capsules is designed for this: one unit is printed in 8–11 min. and cured in the same device.
Can I see the printer before buying?
Yes, we organize demos. Contact us and we will arrange a time and sample cases from your practice.
Can resins from other manufacturers be used in AccuFab printers?
For the AccuFab-L4D / L4K, the manufacturer states suitability for SHINING DENT and certified third-party materials. We recommend using validated material profiles – we are happy to advise.
