Why a lab scanner is needed
Although more and more clinics send intraoral scans, the lab still needs to digitize stone models, impressions, wax-ups and articulator positions. A lab scanner does this automatically and reproducibly, so any team member gets the same result.
Models
- AutoScan-DS-EX Pro – modular scanner with increased scanning speed, dynamic and static articulator scanning and an all-in-one mode.
- AutoScan-DS-EX Pro(H) – 5.0 MP generation model for work requiring higher detail, with background data processing and versatile scanning modes.
How to choose
Consider how many cases you scan per day, whether you need articulator scanning, and what level of detail your typical work requires – implant restorations, bridges, veneers. For higher-volume labs, scanning speed and background processing matter, as the operator can prepare the next model in the meantime.
Digital workflow
Scanned cases can be milled from CAD/CAM discs or printed with a 3D printer. In the SHINING 3D ecosystem, data flows through Dental Cloud – the same platform used by Aoralscan scanners in clinics.
