Surgical procedure from preparation to wound closure

Drapes and protective clothing help prepare a sterile field: disposable surgical gowns, sterile fenestrated drapes (45 × 75 cm and 75 × 90 cm) and an implant drape kit. For cooling during implant placement and tooth extraction, there is an irrigation system, supplied for BienAir, Cefla, KaVo, NSK, W&H surgical motors and in a universal version.

Hemostasis and wound care

After tooth extraction, resorbable gelatin sponges are used to stop bleeding. Cutanplast Dental – 10 × 10 × 10 mm sponges, 24 pcs per box, resorbed within 3–4 weeks. More products are in the dressings and hemostatic products section.

Surgical sutures

Luxsutures sutures cover the main needs of oral surgery: resorbable braided PGA (approx. 60–90 days), fast-resorbing PGA Rapid (approx. 42 days), non-resorbable nylon monofilament and black silk. All sutures are 75 cm long with a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle.

Implantology

In the implantology section you will find the MESA IGEA Narrow Ti4 implant (3.5 × 8 mm) and irrigation lines. For digital implant planning and photogrammetry, the Aoralscan Elite scanner is suitable; its price is available on request.

Frequently asked questions

Which suture should I choose after a tooth extraction?

A resorbable suture is often chosen, e.g. LUXCRYL PGA 4/0 or the fast-resorbing PGA Rapid 4/0 – they do not need to be removed. When the sutures are to be removed, LUXAMID nylon or SILK BLACK silk is used. The final choice depends on the clinical situation and the clinician's judgment.

How long does a Cutanplast Dental sponge take to resorb?

According to the manufacturer, a properly used Cutanplast Dental gelatin sponge resorbs within 3–4 weeks.

Which surgical motors is the irrigation system compatible with?

The irrigation system is supplied for BienAir, Cefla, KaVo, NSK and W&H surgical motors, and a universal version is also available. Select the compatibility option on the product page.

How many sutures are in a pack?

All Luxsutures sutures are supplied 12 pcs per box; suture length is 75 cm.
