Description
Luxsutures LUXCRYL PGA Rapid is a fast-absorbing braided surgical suture made from polyglycolic acid, coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. It differs from standard PGA in its faster absorption, making it intended for closing superficial skin and mucosal wounds where tissues heal quickly and short-term suture support is sufficient.
Tensile strength decreases faster than with standard PGA: about 50% of the initial strength remains after 7 days, and the suture is fully absorbed in approximately 42 days. This is convenient for suturing oral mucosa and other superficial tissues where suture removal is to be avoided and long-term mechanical support is not required. The suture comes with a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle; length 75 cm, 12 sterile packs per box.
