Description

LUXCRYL PGA is an absorbable braided surgical suture made by Luxsutures from polyglycolic acid (PGA), coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate for smoother passage through tissue. The suture is intended for approximating internal tissues where an absorbable suture is required, for example periosteum or oral mucosa in dental and periodontal surgery.

The braided structure ensures good knot security and strength, and the suture is fully absorbed in approximately 60–90 days. About 70% of tensile strength remains 14 days after implantation, about 50% after 21 days and about 20% after 28 days, giving tissues sufficient time to heal. Supplied with a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle; suture length 75 cm, 12 sterile packs per box.

  • Absorbable polyglycolic acid – no suture removal needed
  • Braided structure – secure knot
  • Absorbed in 60–90 days, strength decreases gradually
  • 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle, 75 cm, 12 pcs per box
01

Absorbable material

The polyglycolic acid suture is absorbed by the body within 60–90 days, so it does not need to be removed.

02

Retained strength

About 70 % of the initial strength remains after 14 days, making the suture suitable for deep tissue layers.

03

Secure knot

The braided, coated multifilament structure ensures a secure knot and comfortable handling.

04

Ready to use

Box of 12 sterile packs with an attached 3/8 circle needle.
