HeyGears UltraPrint resins: which one for models and prosthetics?

Short answer: choose a resin by indication, not by color or price. For working models, use Model GP or the water-washable Model WW; for surgical guides, Surgical Guide UV; for temporary crowns, Temp For Try-in UV; and for permanent crowns, LT Crown UV or Detax Freeprint Crown UV. All 16 resins we offer are designed for HeyGears UltraCraft printers, primarily the A2D-HD.
Below you will find all resins grouped by application, the key manufacturer data and the workflow from printing to post-curing.

Models and casting
Model GP is the everyday choice: high surface hardness, fast printing and low viscosity, which keeps the cost per model down. Model WW is useful if you want to eliminate isopropanol: models are washed with water only, and its higher heat resistance makes it suitable for thermoforming splints. For gingiva masks on implant models, use the elastic Gingiva UV, which can be removed and repositioned without damage.
For labs that still cast metal, there is Cast UV: it burns out cleanly (less than 0.03% ash) and is suitable for PFM frameworks, inlays, post-and-core restorations and partial denture frameworks.
Guides, trays and splints
Surgical Guide UV is a clear, odorless, MMA-free resin for implant surgical guides, as well as radiographic guides and fixation devices. Tray UV lets you print rigid custom and functional trays that need no polishing. For splints, there is Hard/Soft Splint (the Keystone KeySplint Hard line), a rigid, wear-resistant resin for night guards and retainers.
For clear parts, it is worth adding the Pulsing Release Module with the HT resin tank: according to the manufacturer, separation force is reduced by up to 90%, light transmission reaches up to 88% and supports can be up to 30% thinner, giving a clear surface without polishing.
Temporary and try-in work
- Temp For Try-in UV: temporary crowns and bridges, occlusion and shape verification before the definitive restoration; also suitable for longer-term temporary wear.
- Tough Teeth For Try-in UV: when higher fracture resistance is needed, e.g. teeth for complete and flexible dentures, temporary implant-supported prostheses, occlusal reconstruction.
- On-X Teeth Try-in UV: All-on-X full-arch try-in and temporary restorations, including immediate loading right after implant placement.
- Flexible Try-in UV: transitional restorations and space maintenance in edentulous areas before implant placement or definitive prosthetics.
- Denture Try-in UV: try-in denture bases for checking fit, occlusion and esthetics.
Long-term and permanent work
LT Crown UV (also known on the market as Saremco print CROWNTEC for HeyGears) is a ceramic-reinforced resin for permanent crowns and veneers, with a flexural strength of 131–145 MPa. Detax Freeprint Crown UV is a Class IIa (MDR) resin for permanent crowns, bridges and denture teeth, validated by HeyGears and Detax for use with the A2D-HD.
For removable prosthetics, there is Detax Freeprint Denture Impact UV for impact-resistant complete denture bases (Freeprint Crown teeth are bonded to the base without an additional intermediate step) and Detax Freeprint Denture Flex UV for flexible partial dentures without a metal framework.
A2D-HD workflow: from printing to curing
- Printing. The UltraCraft A2D-HD automatically recognizes the loaded UltraPrint resin and selects the parameters. Up to five full-arch models can be printed in 20 minutes; accuracy is ±42.5 µm, or ±21.3 µm with the 4K upgrade.
- Part removal. The standard Smart Release Platform lets you release parts with a single press, with no scraping.
- Washing. UltraCraft Wash cleans up to 20 parts in 4–6 min with isopropanol (99%) or ethanol (95%); it also has a mixing function for 1 kg resin bottles. Model WW only needs water.
- Post-curing. UltraCraft AirCure selects the strategy by part and material: curing under water, without water or with a curing agent; cycle time is up to 10 min.
- Finishing. Support removal and, if needed, polishing according to the resin instructions.
If you are building a complete system from scratch, the A2D-HD complete kit includes the printer, Wash, AirCure and the Pulsing Release Module. Equipment price on request.
Checklist before ordering resin
- Will the part be in contact with oral tissue, and for how long? For permanent work, choose only resins intended for it (LT Crown UV, Detax Freeprint Crown UV).
- Do you need transparency? For splints and guides, plan for the HT tank and the Pulsing Release Module.
- Which shade do you need? Check the available VITA shades on the product page.
- Do you have washing and curing equipment? Follow the washing and curing protocol for each resin: mechanical properties and biocompatibility depend on it.
- Which pack size: 500 g or 1000 g? Choose based on consumption so the resin is used up before its expiry date.

Frequently asked questions
Which HeyGears resin is suitable for permanent crowns?
For permanent crowns there are LT Crown UV (with ceramic fillers, flexural strength 131–145 MPa, A1, A2, A3, B1) and Detax Freeprint Crown UV (class IIa under MDR, ~115 MPa, A1, A2, A3, B1, BL).
Is there a HeyGears model resin that can be washed with water?
Yes, Model WW. The printed model is washed with water only, without isopropanol or ethanol, and thanks to its higher temperature resistance the model can also be used for thermoforming.
Which resin is designed for surgical guides?
Surgical Guide UV – a clear, odorless, MMA-free resin for implant surgical guides, as well as splints, radiographic guides and fixation devices.
How long do washing and curing take in the A2D-HD system?
UltraCraft Wash washes up to 20 parts in 4–6 minutes with isopropanol (99 %) or ethanol (95 %), and UltraCraft AirCure post-curing takes up to 10 minutes.
Which resin is suitable for All-on-X temporary prosthetics?
On-X Teeth Try-in UV – designed for full-arch try-in and temporary implant-supported restorations, including immediate loading right after implant placement. Flexural strength 117 MPa, work of fracture 2636 J/m².
Are Detax Freeprint resins suitable for HeyGears printers?
Yes. Based on the HeyGears and Detax partnership, Detax Freeprint resins are validated for use with the HeyGears UltraCraft A2D-HD printer.
